The Bootie Babe beauty brand, developed by SuperBooty LLC, based in San Francisco, is a spin-off from president and CEO Mark O’Hara’s days in the music business. In 1995 he formed a 15-piece funk dance band called SuperBooty, which performed concerts all over California. O’Hara was responsible for every aspect of the band, and even developed the concept for bootie-themed cosmetics and fashion products, to promote the band at concerts. A techie, he began working on early 3D prototypes for a bootie-shaped cosmetics line that would later become Bootie Babe, as he thought it would be unique to connect the brand name to the actual shape of the containers for a more integrated presentation. The line, which launched in 2011, now includes more than 50 shades ($8 each), with names such as Wide Backside, Red Riding Rump and Uncanny Fanny. The bottles were made by Idealpak in China.
